Equal Rights for Divorced Fathers (ERDF) is a national digital news and advocacy publication dedicated to covering the legal, social, and cultural issues facing divorced and separated fathers in the United States. We report on family court reform, child custody law, child support policy, shared parenting legislation, and the broader fatherhood movement with a father-centered but child-first editorial perspective.
Our Mission
Millions of American fathers navigate divorce, custody disputes, and child support orders every year, and yet the news coverage of their experiences is fragmented at best and dismissive at worst. ERDF exists to fill that gap. Our mission is to provide accurate, well-sourced, and accessible reporting on the laws, court rulings, agency actions, and cultural conversations that shape divorced fathers’ lives.
What We Cover
- Child custody and visitation law, state by state
- Child support enforcement, modification, and accountability
- Family court reform legislation and shared-parenting bills
- Court decisions affecting fathers’ rights at the state and federal level
- Fatherhood culture, mentorship, and community resources
- Investigative reports on systemic issues in the family court system
Editorial Independence
ERDF is editorially independent. Our reporting decisions are made by our editorial team and are not subject to approval by advertisers, sponsors, donors, or any outside organization. We clearly label sponsored content, opinion, and op-ed pieces, and we maintain a strict separation between our editorial and commercial functions.
Who We Are
ERDF is published by an editorial team operating under the byline “Equal Rights Advocates,” led by Editor-in-Chief Michael Franklin, who is responsible for all editorial decisions. We are headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, and report on issues affecting divorced fathers nationwide. Detailed ownership and funding information is available on our Ownership and Funding page.
